At jy architecture, each project is seen as a unique opportunity to fulfill the client's goals and dreams that will make the end result reflect the individuality of its users.

Buildings should act like nature and respond to the immediate surroundings. Architecture should respond to the 'genus loci' -- the spirit of place.

This spirit of place is informed by not just the regional appropriateness of locale but also by experiences I have been blessed to have:

• colors in a Mexican market,
• slicing through water in a kayak,
• craftsman working their 'magic',
• light and materiality in the Kimball,
• farming structures and their simple essence,
• watching my great-grandfather weld,
• exploring Predock's Nelson Fine Arts Center
• watching the oncoming Oklahoma storm,
• lessons learned in architecture school,
• losing track of time studying the deep paint on a Van Gogh painting;

these all inform the design process at jy architecture.

Each of the projects shown here were brought to reality because of courageous and trusting clients combined with hardworking and dedicated craftsman that brought their own experiences to the collaborative process.
